The strength of our PsyD program lies in our commitment to student learning and mentoring, our emphasis on understanding and appreciating diversity, broadly defined, and our focus on clinical practice. Our practicum training opportunities offer a wide range of training experiences. Students can gain training experience at state psychiatric facilities, community mental health clinics, VA hospitals, forensic sites, schools, child and adolescent facilities, and group based private practice settings. Our faculty devote part of their time to the practice of psychology and have a broad and diverse range of expertise. SciTechsperience connects college students in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) disciplines with paid internships that provide rewarding hands-on experience in small to mid-sized Minnesota businesses. Companies receive assistance finding qualified candidates and a $1:$1 matching stipend to cover 50% of the intern’s wages (capped at $2,500) when they hire a student through SciTechsperience.  SciTechsperience is the internship program that connects college students studying science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) disciplines to paid internships in small to mid-sized Minnesota companies. The St. Joseph Worker Program is a faith-based volunteer program for women 21-30 who want to commit one year of service working directly with those on the margins of society. Simultaneously, each Worker develops herself in 4 key areas: leadership as a woman, social justice, spirituality and community/simple living. Programs are operating in Los Angeles and Orange, California, Minnesota, and New York. Workers receive many benefits including room and board, transportation to service site, health insurance if needed, a monthly stipend, mentoring and training for personal and professional development. MN School of Professional Psychology

Our clinical psychology doctoral program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association (APA). We have continuously have been accredited since 1993.  The strength of our PsyD program lies in our commitment to student learning and mentoring, our emphasis on understanding and appreciating diversity, broadly defined, and our focus on clinical practice. Our practicum training opportunities offer a wide range of training experiences. Students can gain training experience at state psychiatric facilities, community mental health clinics, VA hospitals, forensic sites, schools, child and adolescent facilities, and group based private practice settings. Our faculty devote part of their time to the practice of psychology and have a broad and diverse range of expertise. Classroom experiences allow students the opportunity to develop a strong knowledge base of theory and research but, more importantly, how to translate this knowledge into professional practice.
