Prepare and Make a Good First Impression

Goal of interview – Your goal should be the same as the interviewers – gain useful information for which you can determine if this position and organization is a good fit.  When asked questions – Don’t answer questions with a simple “yes” or “no.” Explain whenever possible. Describe those things about yourself that showcase your talents, skills, and determination. Give detailed examples. Show that you have done research on the position as well.

After the interview – Send a thank you note right away – a formal response: card or note vs. e-mail.
