Student Name: Savhanna Berger

Major: Biology and Spanish

Class Of (Graduation Year): 2019

Name/ Location Of Intern Site: Career Services and Internships Office, Saint Mary’s University of MN

Major Responsibilities: I work under Mike Hagarty, so I do a lot of the behind the scenes work to promote Career Services and Internships Office events, preparing materials for workshops, and the weekly newsletter.

How Did You Find Out About This Internship?: An email was sent out last semester promoting the internship for the spring semester.

What Has Been Your Most Favorite Part Of The Internship?: I really like the flexibility of the schedule and the independence I’m given in my projects.

What Has Been Your Most Challenging Part Of The Internship?: Being a science major, the transition between lab work and work in an office is different kinds of work, so adapting to the different kinds of work is both challenging and interesting.

What has Been The Biggest Lesson(S): Organization is key, especially when you have lots of information for one project in multiple places.

Advice To Other Students Preparing For An Internship: Go into every day with a positive attitude and an open mind to make every day and project enjoyable.  If you’re in a bad mood while you’re trying to learn and build new skills, it’s going to be harder to accomplish.
